PRIMIS is pleased to announce that is it currently developing a new Diabetes audit tool, which will incorporate both a management tool and casefinder element. It is hoped the audit tool will be ready in late March and will be made freely available to all PRIMIS Hub members.
The Diabetes audit tool is particularly timely given that NICE has just begun (on 6th Jan 2014) a consultation period on proposed changes to the diabetes indicators in the QOF, plus there has been some recent press coverage about the variation in the quality of care for diabetic patients. Please see these news articles in PULSE and GP online which cover the NICE indicators consultation.
PRIMIS plays a supporting role in the piloting of QOF indicators.
Diabetes is just one of several new audit tools that PRIMIS is looking at for release in 2014.
