Welcome to our Journal of the Month news release series, where we highlight some of the work that is taking place within the psychology division. This month, we are featuring a journal from Walter van Heuven, titled: ‘LexCHI: A quick lexical test for estimating language proficiency in Chinese.’ Walter has put together a few words describing what their research entails.
‘This paper presents LexCHI, a quick lexical test for estimating Chinese language proficiency. The freely available test takes only a few minutes to complete and the LexCHI scores were found to significantly correlate with second language Chinese speakers' performance in language tasks. LexCHI is a useful tool for researchers who need to objectively measure Chinese proficiency.’.
