Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Faculty of Engineering
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a background in the design of gas turbines and fuel cell turbo-machinery.
Upon gaining his Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, David worked as a design engineer for Assystem and then Rolls-Royce. He completed component and sub-system design projects across a portfolio of gas turbine products and on turbo-generator projects for LG Fuel Cell Systems. He is a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
David joined the Centre for Aerospace Manufacturing in 2018 and primarily works on the design of innovative assembly cells for the automated production of aerostructures. This includes detailing product build philosophies, the identification and development of manufacturing technologies and the definition of assembly facility architectures.
