Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering
Federico Venturi obtained his Bachelor and Master's degrees in Physics from the University of Bologna (IT) in 2011 and 2014 respectively, working on materials for solar cells, LEDs and solid-state hydrogen storage. He then obtained his PhD in Physics and Nanoscience from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (IT) in 2018 with honours, working on advanced characterisation, electron holography and phase manipulation in the transmission electron microscope. He did several research visits at EMAT (University of Antwerp, BE) and at Ernst Ruska Centrum at Forschungszentrum Jülich (DE). After a short period working at CNR NANO S3 in Modena, he worked for 3 years as a Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham in the Advanced Materials Research Group, working on thermal spray coatings for low-wear applications.
