Research focus

We are focused on investigating and unraveling the intricate molecular mechanisms that regulate root adaptive responses to abiotic stresses. Our primary objective is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the key root architectural and anatomical traits that play a crucial role in enhancing soil exploration and maximising resource capture. Additionally, we are also interested in unraveling the underlying mechanisms responsible for variations in grain protein content. By studying root and grain quality traits, we aim to contribute significantly to the advancement of plant productivity, nutritional quality and agricultural sustainability.

Model organisms: Arabidopsis, Rice, Wheat, Barley, Moth bean, Millets and Duckweeds
