Dara O'Brien Gains Graduate School Travel Prize

The PhD student Dara O’Brien has been successful in her application and will receive the Graduate School Travel Prize.

Dara will use the prize to attend a conference in September 2018 on: "Dimensional Control of Polymer Materials - From Synthesis to Function." The conference is being held at the KarIsruhe Institute of Technology, chaired by Mike Meier.

The travel prize from the graduate school covers up to half the total cost of the trip. It can only be awarded to those who have attended a course with the graduate school. Dara has taken part in the 'PostGraduate Skills Week' last year and attended courses as part of that.

Dara is a PhD Student, School of Chemistry at the University of Nottingham and her main supervisor is Steve Howdle. Dara joined the EPSRC Programme Grant in Next Generation Biomaterials Discovery in 2016 working on New and renewably sourced sustainable functional degradable polymers, mainly associated with Research Challenge 2: Systems Based Advanced Drug Delivery.
