The Biomaterials Discovery Programme Grant held their seminar on Thursday 24 May and Manuel Romero gave a talk as part of this series.
Manuel’s talk was entitled: “Moody microbes. Can gut microbiome rule our health and happiness?”.Research over the past decade has shown that the gut microbiome might be as complex and powerful as our genes when it comes to our health and happiness. Being implicated in mental health disorders, the gut microbiome may also influence our weight, immune function, inflammation, allergies, metabolism and appetite.

It was a great opportunity to hear Manuel speak and a lovely chance for the Programme Grant team to get together.
