The Biomaterials Discovery Programme Grant held their seminar on Thursday 10 May and Jordan Thorpe gave an excellent talk.
Jordan’s talk was entitled: “The Fountain of Youth”. He gave a brief introduction to nature's attempts to break away from the shackles of mortality, and how research is attempting to tackle the issues associated with ageing. Interesting topics of discussion focused around Axolotls and their ability to regenerate limbs. Jordan is a PhD student on the EPSRC Next Generation Biomaterials Discovery Programme Grant, working on cardiomyocyte maturation in Research Challenge 3: Advanced Materials for 3D Stem Cell Differentiation and Regenerative Medicine.
It was a great opportunity to hear about Jordan’s interests and an excellent chance for the Programme Grant team to get together.
