Description

The 2017 edition of October Dialogues hosts public conversations, presentations and performances exploring issues of representation, race and equity in contemporary society and in the cultural sector. This event is supported by the Arts Council England funded research project, The Bigger Picture.

Friday 20 October, 9.30am-4:30pm (Dialogues), The Space

Saturday 21 October, 10am-1.30pm (Nottingham and East Midlands activist workshop), The Space 

Programme Day 1:

9.30-10.15am: Registration with tea and coffee

10.15-10.30am: Welcome and house keeping

10.30-11.30am: Off-site museum practices

11.30-11.50am: Break

11.50am-12.50pm:  Collaborative Practices with museums

12.50-2pm: Lunch, networking and sharing

2-2.50pm: Co-production of knowledge though a community and academic research team

2.50-3.10pm: Break

3.10-4.10pm: The archive as a catalyst for engagement

4.10-4.30pm:  Closing Remarks

10.00am–1.30pm:  Local History Activism in Nottingham and the East Midlands

A half day workshop focused on local history activism in Nottingham and the East Midlands, incorporating multiple models of inclusive practice and questions about justice.
