C3R co-director Rosemary Pearce is selected for the Heidelberg Spring Academy

The Heidelberg Center for American Studies (HCA) is holding its 13th annual, week-long American Studies conference from 14 to 18 March 2016

The Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg in Germany is home to one of the leading centers in the field of American Studies. Modelled loosely on the Futures of American Studies conference pioneered at Dartmouth by Donald E. Pease, the HCA's annual Spring Academy conference invites 20 graduate students from across the globe to share their research in a friendly, academic environment. For one week, participants will be welcomed into the gorgeous Louis-Seize style Curt and Heidemarie Engelhorn Palais right in the heart of Heidelberg's romantic old town centre.

The Spring Academy stands out amongst academic conferences for its focus on discussion and feedback via 40-minute Q&A sessions for every single participant. The organisers of this conference provide participants with various social events throughout the week (themed city tour, dinner, bus trip) to encourage informal conversation and friendly networking.

The Centre for Research in Race and Rights and the Department of American and Canadian Studies are proud to have Rosemary Pearce present her work at this prestigious conference in March. Congratulations!
