Biography

Mike Targett graduated with MA, VetMB from the department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine University of Cambridge. He carried out further post graduate studies at Cambridge obtaining a PhD before undertaking a period as University Assistant Surgeon within the Queens Veterinary School Hospital, University of Cambridge. In 1998 he moved to a lectureship at the Royal Veterinary College, London leading the small animal neurology service within the Queen Mother Hospital. Following a period in private practice offering a second opinion small animal neurology referral service in the NorthWest of England he joined the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science in 2007.

Expertise Summary

Mike Targett is a clinical Associate Professor in Veterinary Neurology. He is Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Neurology and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Mike is module convener for the clinical Neuroscience module in the undergraduate curriculum and is senior tutor to years 4 and 5 of the undergraduate veterinary course. Mike spends 2 days per week working at Dovecote veterinary hospital which is one of the University Associate Veterinary Practices.
