Dr Nate Szewczyk awarded UK Space Agency grant to study impact of spaceflight on the human body

 

Dr Nate Szewczyk has been awarded a grant from the UK Space Agency's Microgravity Science Programme to support a postgraduate student to work on his Molecular Muscle experiment which is due to be flown to the International Space Station on SpaceX-16 flight at the end of 2018.

His award, "Exploration Studentship: Molecular basis of muscle alteration in response to spaceflight", is part of new projects worth £500,000 announced on 8 November.
