User generated content in copyright law: the innovative Canadian exception v the EU approach

A number of practical examples of user generated content showed the potential impact of this new exception in Canadian copyright law. Professor Paul Torremans added a comparative EU perspective, including a discussion of the changes that may flow from the ongoing reform package in Europe. All this then gave rise to a lively discussion with the audience.
