Description

Professor Humberto Zuñiga Schroder will talk about the WTO's Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Agreement and resulting harmonisation of international standards, reflecting on the Peruvian experience (and, in extension, on the experience of the Andean Community [CAN] regime).

A short bio:

Professor Humberto Zuñiga Schroder (PhD, Edinburgh; LLM, Amsterdam; LLB, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú) is currently Associate Dean at the School of Law of Universidad del Pacifico in Peru, serving in parallel as vice-president on both the Commission on Dumping, Subsidies and Elimination of Non-Tariff Trade Barriers of INDECOPI (the Peruvian competition agency) and the Dispute Resolution Court of the Supervisory Agency for Investment in Infrastructure Public Transport (OSITRAN). He has previously served as president of the Court of Justice of the Environmental Assessment and Control Agency (OEFA), vice-president of the Permanent Standardising Committee of the Peruvian National Institution of Quality (INACAL), and Head of the Legal Affairs Division (ad int.) of the Andean Community General Secretariat. In addition, he is an Australian Lawyer and Officer of the Supreme Court of Victoria and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland (2018; non-practising).
