Student Seminar Series hosted Professor Richard Hyde and Ms Natalie Leesakul who gave a talk titled 'What Legal Principles Govern Accidents Involving Autonomous Vehicles: The Automated and Electric Vehicles Act 2018 and Beyond' on Wednesday 13 November 2019.

The discussion focused on some of the key features of the 2018 Act and some of the challenges associated with automated vehicles which the Act aims to tackle. Ms Leesakul, currently working on her PhD thesis titled 'The Legal and Ethical Aspects of Collaborative Robotics in Manufacturing', provided an explanation of the meaning of the autonomous vehicles.
