Professor Peter Cartwright Speaks at University of Cambridge Symposium on Landmark Cases in Consumer Law

On 21/09/21, Peter Cartwright of the University of Nottingham School of Law and Commercial Law Centre delivered a paper to the Symposium on Landmark Cases in Consumer Law. The Symposium was organised by the University of Cambridge and held online. Peter’s paper was entitled “Criminal Law as Consumer Law: Tesco Supermarkets v Nattrass.”  It examined the enduring importance of the 1972 decision of the House of Lords in Tesco v Nattrass, the case that determined the parameters of the law of corporate criminal liability. The paper forms the basis of a chapter of the book Landmark Cases in Consumer Law that is due to be published by Hart in 2022.
