I have expertise in professional communication with a particular interest in equality, diversity and inclusion in workplaces such as Higher Education Institutions and professional services firms. I have worked at a Research Fellow on a number of linguistics and sociolinguistics projects at University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University, including investigations of healthcare messaging, public health campaigns, recruitment language and workplace communication during the Covid-19 pandemic. I have also provided consultancy services to SMEs and collaborated with colleagues to produce training courses for students and staff on street harassment and consent.
Prior to completing my MA and PhD, I worked as a Solicitor for a City law firm and for an international financial services firm, and taught law for the Open University.
Research Summary
I am currently undertaking a 30-month project (March 2023 - September 2025) as Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate with Browne Jacobson LLP. My role is Diversity and Inclusion Specialist.
