Anca Ionescu will talk about her experience as a public service interpreter over 15 years; how the recent squeeze on public funds affected the viability of the work, and the creation, in response to these challenges, of RICOL the first UK Cooperative of language professionals. The talk will consider the advantages and disadvantages of cooperative working, and the role cooperatives might play in public sector interpreting in the future.
