From December 2018 to February 2019, Dr Spencer Jordan of the School of English’s Creative Writing department organised the project Lace/2/Place, alongside Bryan Denby, Professor Eugene Ch'ng, Shengdan Cai and Yue Li.
This project, funded by the University of Nottingham's Creative and Digital Research Priority Area, sought to explore Nottingham's lace-making heritage, presenting creative pieces formed in community-led workshops through the medium of a vitual reality cube, which was open to the public at Nottingham Contemporary on 16 February 2019. This explored how personal stories and histories of the Lace Market can be brought together as an immersive heritage experience.
