On 22nd March 2019 in Highfield House, University Park Campus, author Rachel Cusk delievered a fascinating talk in conversation with the School of English's Dr. Spencer Jordan, discussing her writing and reading from her latest book Kudos (Faber & Faber, 2018).

Cusk is the author of ten novels, but her latest trilogy, comprised of Outline (Faber & Faber, 2014), Transit (Faber & Faber, 2017), and Kudos, seeks to find a middle ground between the novel and the memoir. Her new work aims to challenge this literary problem and push the formal boundaries of fiction. Cusk expanded upon this during her talk and discussed various sources of inspiration, such as the authors Sheila Heti and Virginia Woolf, that she drew upon when seeking ways to create a female voice and experience in her writing.

Kudos is available for purchase from Faber & Faber: https://www.faber.co.uk/9780571346646-kudos.html
