Biography

Lindsay is a newly appointed Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Lifespan and Population Health Sciences.

She graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2006 with degrees in Medicine and Medical Sciences. She completed her PhD in 2020 under the supervision of Professor Michael Symonds and Professor Helen Budge during which she helped develop infrared thermography as a novel, non-invasive functional brown adipose tissue (BAT) assessment tool in humans.

Her current research activities aim to i) extend the value of thermography using concomitant magnetic resonance imaging and ii) complete morphological and functional assessments in populations at risk of metabolic ill-health.
