Three academics in the Division of Medical Sciences and Graduate Entry Medicine have recently secured two prestigious international grants for their work on older people and long term care institutions.
Dr Reena Devi, Dr Kathryn Hinsliff-Smith and Dr Adam Gordon secured a £25k Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) from The Academy of Medical Sciences to develop an international collaborative network to study long term care institutions in Brazil.
In addition, Dr Kathryn Hinsliff-Smith has secured a Brazilian funded FAPESP mobility grant to work in Brazil for 30 days in 2019 and she has further secured a further GCRF pump priming grant (£50k) with colleagues in the School of Health Sciences to develop resources for healthcare professionals in South Africa on identifying gender based violence.
