Isabella Pighi will give a talk to the Mixed Reality Lab on Friday 22nd April.
The consumption of music is increasingly a solitary affair. With smartphones and headphones, the on the move urban populations use music as a means of retreating into a self-controlled environment where real interaction with others is minimized. Music taste is shaped by algorithms, streaming platforms and not by chance discovery. This is at odds with a pre-digital age where music was more socially cohesive and more commonly shared by people in real-space in real-time.Chance encounters led to chance discovery. We now live in a time of massive amounts of available music but the ‘echo-effect’ of similar tastes reflected back has increased. Myooz aims to create serendipitous connection between people creating surprising and real musical exchanges where they take place.
For this talk, we would like to have people downloading the app before the presentation by joining the Beta Testing Group. To be part of our group please send your name, surname, and Apple ID to beta@myooz.com.
