Roma and I did a participatory design (PD) workshop on smart objects for healthier office work behaviours in October 2016, as part of the Balance Network-funded public engagement events. In this talk, I will first present innovative tools and techniques we used at this workshop to scaffold the mutual learning and collaboration between participants who came from diverse professional backgrounds with different levels of technical expertise. Then I would like to discuss preliminary findings. Finally, I would like to present my reflection on the workshop, in terms of stakeholder engagement/behaviour change as well as generation of research data.
