Runner-up prize for Best Oral Paper at Neonatal Transport Conference

Dr Lara Shipley, neonatal clinical research fellow from Academic Child Health, was awarded runner-up prize for best oral paper at the prestigious 3-day international Neonatal Transport Conference at Oxford University.

Her paper is the first to report on the neuronal injury observed secondary to whole body vibration with a rodent model of preterm newborn inter-hospital transport.  This forms part of her PhD, under the supervision of Dr Don Sharkey (Associate Professor of Neonatal Medicine), and builds on the departments excellent track record this year with a number of post-graduate awards for research.
