In January the Swedish Research Council, Vetenskapsrådet, was commissioned by the Swedish Government to evaluate the clinical research and medical education carried out by Swedish university hospitals.
The Council decided that it should benchmark its evaluation against, leading international clinical research institutions, and flatteringly chose Nottingham as one such. The team from Stockholm will visit the University of Nottingham School of Medicine on Monday, 27th February 2017.
Professor Jim Thornton, Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Nottingham, was reappointed as chair of the Swedish Research Council’s (Vetenskapsrådet) Clinical Therapy Board for 2017. Professor Thornton has been a member of this board since it was created in 2014.
