The University of Nottingham School of Medicine is pleased to announce that Thermo FIsher Scientific, a global biotechnology product developer, will provide industrial placements for our Molecular Pathology (MSc by Research) course. Source BioScience has also earlier agreed to offer placements.

The new research-intensive MSc programme is currently recruiting for its first intake in September 2018. It is developed as part of the teaching and training remit of the MRC-funded Nottingham Molecular Pathology Node, and will be relevant for trainee and consultant histopathologists, graduates in life sciences, genetics, biomedical sciences and allied subjects.

It importantly covers the training necessary for the molecular pathology component of the RCPath curriculum for histopathology.

A unique flexible blended programme, the taught component consisting of three modules--Genetics and Gene Regulation, Statistics and Bioinformatics and Theoretical and Applied Molecular Diagnostics in the NHS--will be delivered entirely through distance learning while the extended research component may be undertaken either in the University, industry or the NHS.
