Mental Health and Technology: Decision-aid tools, risk assessment and data analytics

The University of Nottingham and Nottingham University Hospitals Trust have been awarded £23.6 million of government funding to establish a large new Biomedical Research Centre (BRC).  The BRC Nottingham will be the leading UK hub in five key areas of health research:

  • Deafness and Hearing Loss
  • Gastrointestinal and Liver Disease
  • Respiratory Medicine
  • Musculoskeletal Disease
  • Mental Health and Technology

As part of the Mental Health and Technology theme, Professor Julia Hippisley-Cox in the Division of Primary Care, will lead an area of research developing the use of decision-aid tools, risk assessment and data analytics.  The tools will help doctors and patients make better decisions on mental health issues and will use research arising from the QResearch database (www.qresearch.org).
