Our research team

Led by Dr Sabine Tötemeyer and Dr Sharon Egan, our bacterial communities research team also includes Dr Sarah Blott, Dr Tracey Coffey  Professor Gary England, Dr Lisa Yon and Professor David Gardner. They’re supported by our postgraduate students Emma Drinkall (PhD), Karla Esparza (PhD), Jemma Franklin (PhD), Hayley Marshall (PhD) and Lucy Scriven (PhD).

Together, they have extensive expertise in cellular microbiology (Dr Sabine Tötemeyer), molecular bacteriology (Dr Sharon Egan), host genetic analysis (Dr Sarah Blott & Dr Tracey Coffey), comparative veterinary reproduction (Professor Gary England), zoo and wildlife medicine (Dr Lisa Yon) and mammalian physiology (Professor David Gardner).
