Biography

Kate Cobb qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1996 with a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary medicine and is a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. She later completed a PGCE in secondary science education. She has worked in first opinion small animal veterinary practice and secondary education teaching science to 11-19 year olds. Kate joined SVMS at the University of Nottingham in 2006, her responsibilities have included design and delivery of a preliminary year course as an alternative route to the veterinary degree and also contributing to the design and implementation of the five-year curriculum. In 2010 she attained a Masters in Medical Education and in 2015 gained her PhD, the focus for this research being constructive alignment and the transition to practice. Kate is currently employed as an Associate Professor in Veterinary Education and is the Sub-Dean for Teaching, Learning and Assessment (TLA) in the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science.
