Biography
Dr. Tianyi Zeng is an Assistant Professor in Intelligent Manufacturing for Advanced Manufacturing with the Rolls-Royce UTC in Manufacturing and On-wing Technology. He received his Ph.D. degree from the School of Automation, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China, in 2020. He is an Associate Fellow of HEA.

Tianyi's research interests include nonlinear system control, plant/controller co-design, robotic control, and wave energy converter control and optimization.
Currently, his work focuses on robotics design and control of the on-wing inspection, maintenance, and repair.
Research Summary
Tianyi is currently working with Rolls-Royce, designing controllers of robots for automatic inspection and repair in confined spaces and hazardous, such as aero-engines, and nuclear plants.
