Jack Bobo will join the Food Systems Institute as an Advisory Board Member
Effective from December 2024, Jack Bobo will join the Food Systems Institute’s Advisory Board, as he steps down as Director.
Bobo joined the University of Nottingham in the summer of 2023, to serve as Director and launch the new Food Systems Institute – aimed at developing net zero food systems, address food insecurity, improve understanding of community foodscapes and diet-related-ill-health.
In his new Advisory role, Bobo will continue his association with the University of Nottingham. He will play a key role in continuing to shape the strategic direction of the Food Systems Institute and contribute to identifying opportunities that advance our mission of making our food system healthier and more sustainable for People and the Planet.
Commenting on his new role, Jack said: "I am excited to continue working with my amazing colleagues at the University of Nottingham’s Food Systems Institute to foster even deeper partnerships between our institutions. Together, we’re on a mission to build a more resilient and sustainable global food system."
Bobo has also been appointed the new Director of the Rothman Family Institute for Food Studies at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), there he will work closely with Professor Paul Wilson, Director of the Centre for Food Policy and Foresight. Bobo and Paul will continue to work on pioneering initiatives such as sustainable food policy, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) project, and the Future Proteins Project. These efforts will advance collaboration within the food system, reduce stakeholder polarization, and promote nutritional health on local, national, and global levels.
