1 July Centre Closures

All of our University of Nottingham Sport centres will be closed on Monday 1st July for essential staff training. Centres will re-open with normal opening times on Tuesday 2nd July.

David Ross Sports Village

Parking charges and restrictions apply at the following times:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday | 8am to 5.30pm
  • Wednesday | 8am to 12.30pm

All visitors must pay and display using the machines or pay for parking using the RingGO app during the above times. Visitors can make use of one free 30 minute ticket per day and all sporting participants can access one free 2 hour ticket per day.

When all parking bays immediately surrounding David Ross Sports Village are occupied, pay and display users are permitted to park in any marked bay across campus (this includes areas that are sign-posted for permit only). All guests will be required to display a valid pay and display ticket as normal.

If all visitor parking bays in our David Ross Sports Village car park and the surrounding Beeston Lane are full, customers can use the following parking options around the centre:

Jubilee Sports Centre

Our car park at Jubilee Sports Centre is open and available for centre users for the duration of our centre opening times.

Sutton Bonington Sports Centre

Our car park at Sutton Bonington Sports Centre is open and available for centre users for the duration of our centre opening times.

2 hours free for all visitors, please collect a parking ticket from the pay-and-display machine.

Highfields Sports Centre

Parking at Highfields Sports Centre is free-of-charge for all users. If you are visiting Highfields Sports Centre for an event, please be aware that there is limited parking available on site. 

The car park at Beeston Lane on the University of Nottingham Campus is approximately 20 minutes walk away.

There isn’t any designated parking for larger vehicles or buses on campus however University Security will be able to advise on this on arrival.

Riverside Sports Complex

There is an on-site car park available when visiting our Riverside Sports Complex. This should be open when the site is in operation.

Car Parking Works

As part of ongoing road improvements, works shall be taking place at between 8pm and 6am to replace speed humps in various locations across the university - including at David Ross Sports Village. The works shall take place week commencing 24th June at night to reduce any inconvenience and disruption.

If you are visiting David Ross during these dates and times, please park in the bays to the front of the centre, in Nightingale Hall car park, or along the wings of David Ross. We thank you for your co-operation.

Customers can access David Ross Sports Village via entering the North or West entrances to University Park. 

  • The North entrance can be accessed from the A52 Derby Road.
  • The West entrance is accessible from the roundabout between University Boulevard and Woodside Road.

Highfields Sports Complex

Highfields Sports Complex is situated just outside the University of Nottingham campus, and is closest to the West Entrance when leaving campus.

The complex is accessed via the A6005 University Boulevard, with the entrance opposite the Serenity Garden and is entered by crossing the the tram tracks adjacent to University Boulevard. If you are approaching from Clifton Boulevard the entrance will be on your left, and if you are approaching from Beeston town centre the entrance will be on your right. 

When using a Sat Nav to travel to Highfields Sports Complex, please use the postcode NG7 2PS.

Frequently asked questions about our centres

What happens if I've left something in a centre?

Items are kept for three weeks, then sent to University of Nottingham security where items are stored for a further two months. Please note for hygiene reasons we do not keep water bottles, food containers, underwear, toiletries and cosmetics.

Do you have a swimming pool timetable?

Swimming pool timetables are not available on our website, please log into your account to view available session times here: https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/sport/membership/member-login.aspx

What are the university's term time and non-term time dates?

Can I bring a guest with me?

University of Nottingham Sport members can bring a guest with them. This will cost £6.50 off peak and £7.50 per activity during peak times.

What are peak and off-peak times?
  • 6.30am-3pm during term time is classed as off-peak.
  • 3pm-11pm is classed as peak times during the student term time.
  • During the student non-term time the facility is classed as off peak throughout our opening hours.
