If all visitor parking bays in our David Ross Sports Village car park and the surrounding Beeston Lane are full, customers can use the following parking options around the centre:

Highfields Sports Centre

Parking at Highfields Sports Centre is free-of-charge for all users. If you are visiting Highfields Sports Centre for an event, please be aware that there is limited parking available on site. 

The car park at Beeston Lane on the University of Nottingham Campus is approximately 20 minutes walk away.

There isn’t any designated parking for larger vehicles or buses on campus however University Security will be able to advise on this on arrival.

Riverside Sports Complex

There is an on-site car park available when visiting our Riverside Sports Complex. This should be open when the site is in operation.

Our David Ross Sports Village is located at University Park Campus - the University of Nottingham’s largest campus at 300 acres.

Customers can access David Ross Sports Village via entering the North or West entrances to University Park. 

  • The North entrance can be accessed from the A52 Derby Road.
  • The West entrance is accessible from the roundabout between University Boulevard and Woodside Road.

Nottingham's bus network is extensive, with frequent services connecting University Park to the city centre and to destinations to the west of Nottingham including Lenton, Beeston and Chilwell.

Nottingham City Transport's (NCT) 34C runs from Nottingham City Centre onto University Park Campus, stopping outside David Ross Sports Village. In termtimes the 34C evening and Saturday services stop at DRSV, and in university holidays the 34C runs to DRSV throughout the day Monday-Friday. Alternatively, you can catch the NCT 36, which runs Monday-Sunday between the City Centre and Chilwell and stops on Derby Road a short walk from DRSV. Trent Barton buses can also be used to travel to DRSV, with indigo and i4 buses stopping closest to DRSV. See the Trent Barton and NCT campus bus maps for more information.

Tram:

Nottingham’s tram lines provide direct links to University Park from various points around the city - including Nottingham Train Station. The closest stop for DRSV is the University Boulevard stop. E-bikes:

Lime has launched an e-bike rental scheme in the Nottingham City area. Users can pick up and return Lime e-bikes from a network of designated e-bike-hire bays across the city – and there is pick up/drop off spot outside DRSV on Universitas 21 Avenue.

You can hire e-bikes through the Lime app which is available on the Apple app store or the Google Play store.

Cycling

If you want to cycle to DRSV using your own bike then there are cycle hooper outside the main entrance to the building plus additional cycle parking in the covered shelters on Universitas 21 Avenue. Don’t forget your D lock to secure your bike while you’re using the sports facilities.

Jubilee Sports Centre

Jubilee Sports Centre is located at the University of Nottingham's Jubilee Campus. The Jubilee campus is an award-winning green campus recognised for its innovative architecture and sustainability.

Customers can access Jubilee Sports Centre via Triumph Road. Parking behind the centre is accessed via the side road next to the University of Nottingham Innovation Park.

When using a Sat Nav to travel to Jubilee Sports Centre, please use the postcode NG7 2TU.

Alternatively, you can catch Trent Barton’s two which also stops on Wollaton Road. From 16 September, NCT will be launching the 29 which will run from the City Centre onto Jubilee Campus - stopping opposite the Sports Centre on Triumph Road. Sutton Bonington Sports Centre

Sutton Bonington Sports Centre is located at the University of Nottingham's Sutton Bonington Campus. The campus is is 10 miles south of University Park on the border of Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

Customers can access Sutton Bonington Sports Centre via College Road.

Highfields Sports Complex

Highfields Sports Complex is situated just outside the University of Nottingham campus, and is closest to the West Entrance when leaving campus.

The complex is accessed via the A6005 University Boulevard, with the entrance opposite the Serenity Garden and is entered by crossing the the tram tracks adjacent to University Boulevard. If you are approaching from Clifton Boulevard the entrance will be on your left, and if you are approaching from Beeston town centre the entrance will be on your right. 

When using a Sat Nav to travel to Highfields Sports Complex, please use the postcode NG7 2PS.

The nearest cash machines to David Ross Sports Village are at the Portland Building on University Park campus and at Co-Op just outside the West entrance to University Park.

🌊 Water fountains are available throughout David Ross Sports Village for customers to fill up water bottles.

🚼 There are plenty of changing rooms located near to both our gym and swimming pool complex. This includes accessible changing rooms and baby change facilities.

🔒 We have lockers throughout our facilities that are operated by padlocks rather than coin operated. Customers may bring their own padlock, or they can be purchased from reception for £5.

🏸 You can hire rackets and equipment at our reception.

🥑 We have a café on-site at David Ross Sports Village that offers hot and cold food options, as well as hot and cold drinks.

👕 You can purchase University of Nottingham Sport merchandise at our dedicated retail store at David Ross Sports Village.

🐕‍🦺 We welcome guide/support dogs into our centres, however outside of this dogs are not permitted.

The nearest cash machines to David Ross Sports Village are at the Portland Building on University Park campus and at Co-Op just outside the West entrance to University Park.

🌊 Water fountains are available throughout David Ross Sports Village for customers to fill up water bottles.

🚼 There are plenty of changing rooms located near to both our gym and swimming pool complex. This includes accessible changing rooms and baby change facilities.

🔒 We have lockers throughout our facilities that are operated by padlocks rather than coin operated. Customers may bring their own padlock, or they can be purchased from reception for £5.

🏸 You can hire rackets and equipment at our reception.

🥑 We have a café on-site at David Ross Sports Village that offers hot and cold food options, as well as hot and cold drinks.

Jubilee Sports Centre

We look forward to welcoming you to our University of Nottingham campuses. Please be aware that on certain dates, our campus and centres may be busier than usual so please allow extra time to travel and park.

Frequently asked questions about our centres

What happens if I've left something in a centre?

Items are kept for three weeks, then sent to University of Nottingham security where items are stored for a further two months. Please note for hygiene reasons we do not keep water bottles, food containers, underwear, toiletries and cosmetics.

Do you have a swimming pool timetable?

Swimming pool timetables are not available on our website, please log into your account to view available session times here: https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/sport/membership/member-login.aspx

What are the university's term time and non-term time dates?

Can I bring a guest with me?

University of Nottingham Sport members can bring a guest with them. This will cost £6.50 off peak and £7.50 per activity during peak times.

What are peak and off-peak times?
  • 6.30am-3pm during term time is classed as off-peak.
  • 3pm-11pm is classed as peak times during the student term time.
  • During the student non-term time the facility is classed as off peak throughout our opening hours.
