Re-assessments

If you need to take resits, these will be scheduled between Monday 19 August 2024 - Saturday 31 August 2024. The reassessment exam timetable will be released by Monday 5 August.

The results from the reassessment period will be released on Tuesday 24 September 2024, which is during welcome week and is when you're likely to be planning your return to campus. 

The timing of this result release means that if you're doing resits you'll need to plan ahead.

If you pass your resits

You'll be emailed and asked to complete online registration the day after your results are released, once you've registered you'll be able to log into NottinghamHub and complete online module enrolment. It may take up to a week after you've registered for your student record to be completely updated. This might mean that your modules, timetable and Moodle take a week to fully update. 

While we're updating your information you can use the master timetable to find out where your teaching is taking place. 

If you haven't progressed

If you haven't progressed to your next stage of study, you may be eligible to take further reassessments, which you will need to pass before being able to continue. You will be informed If you are eligible to take further reassessments, which you would have the option to retake either on campus with teaching, or to study away from campus and return only to take your exams. There's a lot to consider when making this decision.

Resit in attendance 

You'll be repeating a stage or semester of your studies, attending teaching on campus but retaking the modules that you didn't pass. 

What to expect

  • You will be a fully registered student attending the university on campus
  • The modules you're resitting will show in NottinghamHub
  • You will be charged tuition fees (the amount you will be charged will depend on the number of credits you are taking)
  • You will be eligible to apply for a Student Loan to cover your tuition fee and cost of living (a years additional funding can be applied for if you have 'compelling personal reasons'
  • Your marks will appear against last years modules in Blue Castle, this keeps them together and means they don't show over two academic years                                                                                                                              

Resit not in attendance 

You might have one or more reassessment to take in the next academic year, but you won't be attending lectures or teaching. 

What to expect

  • You won't need to complete online registration 
  • Your teaching timetable will be blank 
  • You'll have access to your IT account and to learning materials on Moodle 
  • Tuition fees will not be charged so you won't receive funding from the Student Loan's Company (SLC)
  • You won't be eligible for a maintenance loan
  • If you're on a student visa the university may not be able to sponsor you for the period you are away
