Assessment results

Results are shared with you online through Blue Castle unless your school or department has advised you differently. You will need to log in using your university username and password to see your information.

We will email you when results are released to let you know Blue Castle is open.

If you have any questions about your results, you should contact Student Services as soon as you're able to.

Progression and award information (degree classification/borderlines)

To progress from 1 year of your course to the next, you need to meet the university academic progression regulations plus any additional supplementary regulations on your course. Please read our academic regulations.

Please select your type of degree, category,  and the year you started your course to see the regulations that apply to you.

Progression information can be found under the ‘completion of stage’ heading.

Next steps following your resits

If you pass your resits

You'll be emailed and asked to complete online registration the day after your results are released, once you've registered you'll be able to log into NottinghamHub and complete online module enrolment.

It may take up to a week after you've registered for your student record to be completely updated. This might mean that your modules, timetable and Moodle take a week to fully update.

While we're updating your information you can use the master timetable to find out where your teaching is taking place.

If you have not progressed

If you haven't progressed to your next stage of study, you may be eligible to take further reassessments, which you will need to pass before being able to continue.

You will be informed If you are eligible to take further reassessments, which you would have the option to retake either on campus with teaching, or to study away from campus and return only to take your exams.

There's a lot to consider when making this decision.

Resit in attendance

You'll be repeating a stage or semester of your studies, attending teaching on campus but retaking the modules that you didn't pass.

What to expect

  • You will be a fully registered student attending the university on campus
  • The modules you're resitting will show in NottinghamHub
  • You will be charged tuition fees (the amount you will be charged will depend on the number of credits you are taking)
  • You will be eligible to apply for a Student Loan to cover your tuition fee and cost of living (a years additional funding can be applied for if you have 'compelling personal reasons’
  • Your marks will appear against last year's modules in Blue Castle, this keeps them together and means they don't show over 2 academic years

Resit not in attendance

You might have one or more reassessment to take in the next academic year, but you won't be attending lectures or teaching.

What to expect

  • You won't need to complete online registration
  • Your teaching timetable will be blank
  • You'll have access to your IT account and to learning materials on Moodle
  • Tuition fees will not be charged so you won't receive funding from the Student Loan's Company (SLC)
  • You won't be eligible for a maintenance loan
  • If you're on a student visa the university may not be able to sponsor you for the period you are away
