We are very happy to welcome you to the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering (CEE). We look forward to seeing you for the Welcome Week, which commences on Monday 25 September.

Below you will find your induction timetable. You may find the University Map useful in helping you find your way around. Some of the Welcome sessions are being delivered online through Microsoft Teams. You will be notified by email when these joining links are available on the CEE Student Community and Handbook Moodle page.

Your induction is a programme of activities and events to introduce you to your school and course. It's important that you attend each induction activity to give you the best start to the year.

Collection of Hoodies

Compulsory session for CEE students outlining laboratory practice and an opportunity to collect Department Hoodies.

Optional Session aimed at International Students:Reading and writing in English

This session gives you an overview of what might be expected of you during your study in terms of reading sources and writing assignments.

MSc Student Academic Skills

The Student Academic Skills Team (SAS) Will run three separate optional online sessions for all PGT students in the faculty: Transition to University (2-3pm), Time management (3-4pm), and Expressing criticality and argument in academic writing (4- 5pm).

A chance for students to find out what's on offer in Nottingham while you are at the University of Nottingham and to start becoming familiar with the city, campuses and student life.

Your introduction to University of Nottingham Libraries 

Join our friendly Library staff for an online session that will explain how to get started with your libraries and how we can help you to achieve your study goals.

The Digital Student Tutorial for new students

This session will introduce you to an exciting new UoN programme that will help you develop the digital capabilities you need to thrive in your learning, whatever your background or prior learning, led by Luis Canhoto Neves.

Compulsory for all new students in CEE, Students are required to attend this talk and need to arrive at the stated arrival time 10am. You will then be given PPE once you have attended the talk.

Led by The Centre for English Language Education (CELE) this session aims to introduce the main modes of academic communication used at the university-Moodle and e-mail, and how to make the best and most appropriate use of them.

Led by The Centre for English Language Education (CELE), this session gives students an overview of some interesting aspects of British culture and some insights into what academic culture in the UK expects from students.
