How long was the placement for?

"35 hours."

Tell us a little about LeftLion…

"We are a Nottingham based arts and culture magazine that began in 2003, producing a monthly magazine, what’s on guide and various digital projects relating to Nottingham."

What made you want to offer a work placement?

As a student I found work placements very valuable and I believe getting industry training helps students apply their education to the real world.

What kind of work was the placement student doing? What outcomes were you looking for?

"The student conducted interviews, wrote articles, put together our events blog and helped with social media. The main outcome we were after was good quality, attention to detail and a professional attitude.

The student was a valuable addition to the team whilst with us."

What did the student personally bring to the project, in your view?

It’s useful to have a younger, fresh perspective as we can then see how we might target a younger audience with our content.
