Our rural Sutton Bonnington Campus is an inspiring and vibrant space affectionately known as ‘SB’ among our students and staff.
This specialist campus is home to our Schools of Biosciences and Veterinary Medicine and has outstanding facilities including a 1,100-acre university farm, centre for dairy science innovation, animal small holdings, our paperless super lab, specialist glasshouses and food processing facility.

The Nottingham Ancient and Environmental DNA Laboratory (ÆDNA) opened in June 2022 which will allow DNA from ancient and environmental samples to be analysed.
The new lab will represent a significant advance in research capability at the University and provide a great opportunity for researchers from different disciplines to work together on important projects.Having access to this state-of-the-art facility will allow researchers to analyse DNA from archaeological material, preserved plant specimens, ancient soils and museum objects that are hundreds to thousands of years old.
