Our Foundation Engineering and Physical Sciences module spotlight

Whilst studying your Foundation Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS) course you’ll be introduced to a wealth of engineering modules. As you study these, you’ll start to form an idea of what you want your undergraduate degree to look like. This is why you’ll love our FEPS Engineering Project module. Under the supervision of our academic staff, you’ll be given free choice of which subject area you’d like to delve into a bit deeper.

Once you’ve chosen your own area of interest, you’ll be able to start work on your personal project, be it on advanced mathematics, digital electronics, civil engineering design, or even architectural drawing. During this project you’ll build on the knowledge you gained during your course and develop your research, practical, report writing and presentation skills.

You’ll be supervised by an expert academic within the field, as well as have access to equipment to assist with any practical requirements of your project, including electronic and mechanical hardware, 3D printers, data-loggers and sensors, computer programming and design packages.

It’s a brilliant opportunity to figure out an area you’re really passionate about and learn more about an area that interests you whilst you decide for your preferred choice of undergraduate degree.
