Practical Assessment Week

Chemical and Environmental Engineering module spotlight

During your time at the University of Nottingham, you’ll study a huge variety of interesting modules and practical tasks that delve deeper into your course. One of these we know you’ll love is the Practical Assessment Week.

This is your perfect opportunity to really get your hands dirty. Taking place during your second semester, the Practical Assessment Week takes over your regular timetable and you’ll undertake a series of group-based practical challenges that are centred around an overarching process engineering scenario.

These challenges comprise a mixture of lab and outdoor-based tasks that provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your understanding and application of fundamental scientific principles to elements of engineering practice. In addition, you’ll demonstrate your ability to use relevant equipment, tools, materials, processes, and design skills, whilst also showcasing your teamwork and time management capabilities.

Practical Assessment Week contributes towards the assessment of several core Year 1 modules, including Chemistry for Engineers, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, and Process Engineering Principles. With such expert knowledge, we know you’ll be ready for wherever your career takes you!
