By studying Foundation Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS), you’ll be able to strengthen skills, knowledge, and confidence before you progress onto year one of an honour's degree.

You’ll be fully supported as you study a range of modules that will set you up for success, including:

  • maths
  • computer methods
  • electricity and magnetism
  • mechanics
  • physics
  • lab skills

Once you’ve passed your foundation year, you’ll have the freedom to choose what you want to study from a choice of over 80 courses, whether that be engineering or one of our physical sciences. Explore the departments you might want to progress onto.

* Progression onto Architecture BArch and Architecture and Environmental Design MEng courses is subject to the submission of a successful portfolio in addition to meeting the normal Foundation progression criteria.

** Progression to degrees in the School of Mathematical Sciences or the School of Physics and Astronomy is subject to additional requirements in mathematics modules.
