Sutton Bonington campus, affectionately known as ‘SB’, is home to over 2,500 students from the Schools of Biosciences and Veterinary Medicine. Set within 1000 acres of countryside, SB is a relaxed and friendly community in beautiful surroundings.
There are over 40 societies based at Sutton Bonington campus, but the largest and most active is The Vet Soc!
It’s the perfect opportunity for veterinary medicine students to take part in all the activities on offer, both social and educational. These include:
This scheme is run by Vet Soc. It works by pairing up second years with freshers, so freshers have a point of contact to help them settle in.
The ‘big vets’ will be there for you to ask any questions, meet up with, give some advice or just be a friendly face on campus. We also have a couple of socials in the first few weeks to help you settle in and plenty more throughout the year.
Our award-winning market runs on the first Wednesday of every month, from 11am-3pm. It supports local producers and farmers, and promotes integration between the local community and university, providing fresh, local, tasty food for everyone.
Because it's open to everyone, including all the locals, it's really busy. It's great. And the food is amazing! They often run special handmade craft markets, especially around Christmas time. It's so lovely and there's often freebies being handed out.

I love Sutton Bonington, it's great. It's a beautiful campus. It’s small but it's got everything we need. It’s really nice because people say hello to you and you'll always see someone that you know. There are loads of lovely walks. It’s just by the canal and the countryside is beautiful - there’s always bunnies hopping around!
