What to expect on your midwifery course

Hear from our team about the types of support we offer and the course structure

Training to become a successul midwife means being dedicated and passionate about your studies, for those who you'll be caring for in the future. But it's not all left down to you. We have a comprehensive support system and a well designed course structure, to help empower you to reach your goals.

Types of support you can receive include, but are not limited to:

  • a personal tutor, who you can speak to during your studies
  • practice support tutors who are there to find out about your experiences and offer dedicated support if it's needed
  • peer support, there are many opportunities to learn from your course mates through group work and our Nursing and Midwifery Association student society
  • university-wide support from our Support and Wellbeing team, counselling service, Disability Support Services and Health Service
