Kickstart your finance and accounting career

Work towards a professional accreditation while you study at the University of Nottingham

Gain a global perspective on complex issues

Our finance and accounting courses focus on modern firms and how they operate in the ever-changing financial environment.

As part of your studies, you'll learn how to deal with these complex accounting and financial issues, whilst looking at theories, methods, and techniques of accounting within a global context.

The areas you study will be shaped by innovative research. We attract students and academics from all over the world providing you with a truly global perspective and an inclusive, diverse and professional network for you to tap into and thrive.

Not only will your studies result in a degree, but they can also count towards accreditations from major accountancy bodies to set you apart from the competition.

Why Nottingham?

Our accounting and finance degrees offer the opportunity to gain examination exemptions from a range of professional bodies including ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA and ICAEW. This is dependent on your course and satisfactory completion of certain modules.

Our BSc Accountancy Flying Start degree is an innovative course aimed at students who want to become ICAEW Chartered Accountants. This four-year programme is sponsored by PwC and overseen by the ICAEW.

We are accredited by AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. One of the few business schools worldwide to hold this prestige.

The University of Nottingham graduates are among the most targeted by top graduate employers (The Graduate Market in 2023, High Fliers Research).

We offer a wide range of optional modules that give you the flexibility to tailor your studies around your interests. You can choose from areas such as entrepreneurship, risk management and corporate governance.

Chris Hyland, Director of Foodprint, talks about the development of Nottingham’s first social supermarket Foodprint. Students redistribute food to the local community and run the supermarket with a team of fourteen students, while developing their skills in running a business.

Put your studies to the test

Turn theory into practice by entering business competitions outside of your course. Just like Enactus Nottingham did when they won an award for their food waste business.

Flex your digital skills

Did you know 75% of employers report a shortage of digital skills in their workforce?

That's why we believe it’s essential for our students to learn the digital skills needed to excel in their careers.

To help you get a head start, our courses are integrated with software from SAP, so you’ll enter the graduate pool with a deep understanding of widely used systems. During the course, you will also learn how to use data, AI and the Cloud to fill the digital knowledge gap.

Plus, all business school students have the opportunity to take industry-recognised certifications from Microsoft and SAP at a discounted rate during their degree.
