A high proportion of our graduates go on to complete legal training relevant to that of a solicitor (Legal Practice Course) or barrister (Bar Professional Training Course), whether they have secured a training contract or pupillage.

Our Careers and Employability Service is here to help every step of the way

In addition to career guidance, information and resources, the Careers and Employability Service holds workshops on CV writing, completing application forms, and interview techniques. Our lifelong career support service is available to all University of Nottingham graduates and is designed to develop your skills and confidence to help you stand out.  

87.4% of undergraduates from the School of Law secured graduate-level employment or further study within 15 months of graduation. The average annual salary for these graduates was £25,800 (HESA Graduate Outcomes 2019/20 data published in 2022).

Develop your network 

Our School of Law is well-connected, and students are encouraged to optimise their involvement in our vast network of industry experts throughout their studies and especially at our annual Law Fair. 

The Fair provides Nottingham students with the opportunity to meet representatives from a variety of recruiting organisations, discover vacancies and opportunities, and develop vital relationships with prospective employers. Presentations from leading legal firms can also be enjoyed. It is one of the largest fairs of its kind in the country.  

Over 70 legal firms attend the Fair, including international and local law firms, barristers' chambers, the Government Legal Service, representatives of the justice sector and legal education providers.
