How to get to the city centre from Jubilee Campus

Jubilee Campus is within 2 miles of the city centre, and there are many transport links that will get you there. In fact, it’s so close that you might even take yourself there on a bike or on foot!

So how do you get to Nottingham’s city centre from the campus?

There are a number of options you can take, depending on your method of transport.

Bus

Nottingham has an award-winning public transport system. It’s fast, friendly and incredibly efficient. Discounted student fares are available, and if you get a Robin Hood card you can use it on the tram too.

Jubilee Campus now has its own bus service linking it to the city centre - NCT's 29 will pick you up outside the Exchange Building, or on Triumph Road next to Southwell Hall. It will drop you off in the city centre on Milton Road, outside the Victoria centre.

Alternatively, you can either walk out the south entrance and use the ‘Hillside’ bus stop on Derby Road, or from the north entrance use the ‘Marchwood Close’ stop on Wollaton Road.

From the Hillside stops you can catch several buses into the centre:

  • for the Victoria Centre, use NCT’s 35 or 36 which will drop you off on Milton Road outside the Victoria Centre
  • for Market Square, use NCT 34 and get off on Maid Marian Way, or use Trent Barton’s i4 or indigo and get off on Friar Lane

From the Marchwood Close stops you can catch these buses into the city centre:

  • for the Victoria Centre use NCT 28 or 30 and get off on Milton Street outside the Victoria Centre, or catch Trent Barton’s TWO and get off at the Victoria Centre bus station

If you want to travel back to Jubilee campus at night time by bus, then NCT run the N34 down Derby Road every Monday to Saturday night, or Trent Barton’s TWO runs past midnight on Friday and Saturday nights.

See the Trent Barton and NCT bus route maps for more information.

To make bus travel easier, you can pay for the bus via cash or contactless payments. Some bus operators do not give change, so make sure you have the correct fare.

You can find out more about all the buses which serve University Park Campus on our bus service webpage

The University also operates a free hopper bus that will allow you to travel between campuses.

Bicycle

Nottingham has lots of safe cycle routes, many of which are off road. Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council publish maps of local cycle routes. You can use these maps to plan cycle journeys to our campuses.

Don’t forget to take a bike lock with you - D-Locks are the most secure.

You can use the CycleStreets journey planner to plan a journey by bike.

If you don’t have your own bike, then you can hire an e-bike through Lime – there are hire stations across University Park campus and in the centre. UoN students are eligible for ‘Lime Access’ which offers a 50% discount on the hire charges. Find out more here
