The Timperley Scholarship

For students studying Pharmacy or Zoology at undergraduate level

This Potential Scholarship provides financial support for students from lower income families who study Pharmacy or Zoology at undergraduate level.

Established in 2000 by an endowment gift from Mr John Timperley (Phamacy 1961) and Mrs Eileen Timperley (Zoology 1961), this scholarship aims to enable students to study at Nottingham, who might otherwise find it difficult for financial reasons to attend University.

Subject to satisfactory progress, the successful applicant will receive the scholarship for the full period of their undergraduate studies, up to a maximum of four years. If you're chosen for the award, you won't have to pay it back after you graduate.

Eligibility criteria explained

To be eligible for the 2022 Timperley Scholarship, you must:

  • Be registered on the first year of a full-time Pharmacy (including Pharmaceutical Sciences) or Zoology undergraduate course at the University of Nottingham in September 2022
  • Have a household income between £0-£25,000

Plus

  • Be enrolling in Autumn 2022 for the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Nottingham (UK Campus), this being your year of entry to the University
  • Not have studied for an undergraduate degree before starting at Nottingham
  • Have Home funding status
  • Not be receiving external sponsorship for your course e.g. from industry/employers (University Core bursaries and Government grants do not affect your eligibility)
  • Have had their household income assessed for your statutory government support and consented to share this information with the University
