Ethel and Kevin B Malone Scholarship Fund (supported by FUN America Inc)

For lower-income students from Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire

This Potential Scholarship provides financial support for students from lower income families from Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. 

If you are chosen for this award, you will receive funding throughout your 3- or 4-year course to support your time at the University of Nottingham and you won't have to pay it back after you graduate.

Eligibility criteria explained

To be eligible for the 2024 Ethel and Kevin B Malone Scholarship Fund, you must:

  • Live in Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire
  • Have undertaken all your secondary education in a state-maintained school or college in Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire
  • Have a household income between £0-£25,000
  • Must be in Year 1 of course (i.e. not year '0')

Plus

  • Be enrolling in the 2024/25 academic year for the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Nottingham (UK Campus), this being your year of entry to the university
  • Not have studied for an undergraduate degree before starting at Nottingham
  • Have Home funding status
  • Not be receiving external sponsorship for your course e.g. from industry/employers (University Core bursaries and Government grants do not affect your eligibility)
  • Have had their household income assessed for your statutory government support and consented to share this information with the university.

Otherwise eligible part-time students who are unable to study full-time because of a disability should contact the Funding and Financial Support team to discuss their funding options.

How to apply

Applications for 2024/25 Ethel and Kevin B Malone Scholarship open on Monday 23 September 2024.

Applications will be looked at once the closing date has passed and all applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by email to their university email account within 4 weeks of the closing date.
