Spotlight on Professor Maarten Taal and Nick Selby

The Centre for Kidney Research and Innovation (CKRI) is an internationally recognised renal research group. Professor Taal is an international expert in chronic kidney disease (CKD), and Professor Selby in acute kidney injury (AKI). Together, they lead a clinically focussed research programme that aims to improve the treatment for patients with kidney disease, including a collaboration with the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging centre so that novel MRI methods can be tested in clinical settings.  
 
You’ll get to work with Professor Taal and Professor Selby on the Urogenital System module, in which they teach renal physiology combined with clinical nephrology.
